Viking Café and Guesthouse, located on the Stokksnes Peninsula near Höfn, is a unique coffee stop tucked inside an attraction itself. Before heading out for a hike, scan your card at the entrance to purchase your ticket, then you’re free to explore the beautiful trails! This café first opened its doors thirteen years ago as a small shed. Aside from enjoying a warm cup of coffee at the Viking Café, you’re able to rest at the Viking Café Guesthouse or their Campsite. This family-run coffee shop sits near scenic views of jagged mountains and black sand dunes. The coffee shop is quite spacious with several tables inside and outside, so don’t worry about not finding seating! The attraction near this café revolves around a [replica] viking village, including a large viking ship that people can climb aboard on.

Viking Café has several options for drinks: Regular Coffee, Cappuccino, Cafe Latte, Espresso, Hot Chocolate, Swissmokka, Tea, Coca Cola, Juice, and Viking Beer. We ordered one regular coffee, one cappuccino, one pecan pie, and one Oreo pie. With every black coffee purchased, you get one free refill! Some tasty meals they serve include: Waffle, Cake, Muffin, Grilled Sandwich (ham and cheese), Grilled Panini (ham and cheese; vegetable and mustard sauce.) Viking Café offers the Icelandic “Vaffla,” a popular treat served hot or cold with toppings of your choosing. Vafflas are common in most Icelandic coffee shops, their design made up of six heart-shaped sections.

Viking Café opens early and stays open late, which is a rarity for Iceland! The coffee shops opens everyday at 7:30 AM until 10 PM. Admission tickets are 1.200 kr. per person with children under sixteen get in for free. Inside the Viking Village, you’ll tike to the viking ship surrounded by mountain views, ocean views, and glacier views–and if you’re lucky, seals may show up to say hi!)
