The mall isn’t only for shopping. Start the new year with a fresh local coffee taste.
The Hideout Cafe and Bakery is a new local business located in Fort Myers at the Edison mall and it is right in the entrance, directly in front of Books a Million (clever). This new business opened in the middle of last year. This coffee shop is tiny– making it just as cozy. On each table sits a Groot flower pot ready to greet you, along with friendly baristas ready to greet you as well. The best part of this cafe is the location. You can make your way over to the book shop right across from this simple cafe, grab yourself a book, and enjoy yourself a nice warm cup of coffee.
This cafe has Cuban options, which caught my attention right off the bat. So, for all my Cubans visiting Fort Myers, or residents looking for a new hot spot serving some Cuban goodies– The Hideout is readily available for you. They have a coffee section called, “Cuban Buzz” serving Cafe Con Leche ($3.75) and Coladas ($2.50). For food– the Hideout serves a trio of Cuban sandwiches including El Cubano ($9.50), La MediaNoche ($9.50), and Croquetta Preparada ($7.99). They also offer a Combo Bread Tostado and Cafe Con Leche ($7.99). OR you can just order the tostado with any coffee or drink of your choosing. No worries!
They serve Speciality Drinks, Cuban Buzz, Frozen Drinks, Espresso, Teas, Non-coffee, Breakfast, and Sandwiches, and Ice Cream. The Hideout cafe offers interesting specialty drinks! The sizes come in a 16oz or a 24oz (or you can get it in a mug, just ask!). This cafe sells Frozen Coconut Affogato (coconut galore!)- espresso or matcha, coconut ice cream, coconut milk, and maple syrup ($6.99-$7.99). Quarantine– dalgona- a thick flavored foam floating on top of your drink ($3.50-$4.50). Honey Nut Latte- hazelnut, honey, espresso, and milk of your choice ($4.75-$5.75). Mocha Latte- espresso, rich chocolate sauce, and your choice of milk ($5.50-$6.50). White Mocha- espresso, white chocolate, and your choice of milk ($5.50-$6.50). White Cloud in a Cup (the essence of cozy…)- espresso, coconut, toasted marshmallow, and steamed milk ($5.25-$6.25). And last but not least– Hazelnut Gone Nuts- hazelnut, coconut, caramel, espresso, and steamed milk ($5.25-$6.25).
The Hideout has a hideout where you can hideaway to take some Instagram worthy photos. A light bulb flipped on whenever the owners were brewing up marketing techniques with this one. They offer a selfie stand where you can lay your phone with a ring light that you are free to use. I’m not using it here (I’m sorry Hideout), but this is the backdrop for it. You don’t have to solely use this couch and area for photos (though, it’s most popular for that reason), you’re more than welcome to use this area to enjoy your cup of coffee. There’s a coffee table right in front of the couch where you can set your drinks and food. If you’re looking for a new local cafe to support with a modern environment for all your selfie adventures– make your way to the mall! The Hideout is the perfect place to hideaway… for a cup of coffee.
