A few blocks from the LA Convention Center, Andante Coffee offers a much needed breather from the crowds. Andante Coffee is small—just a counter, a few stools, and a couple of outdoor tables—but it’s thoughtfully arranged and always welcoming. The design is minimal, with clean lines and neutral tones, but the energy inside is warm. Regulars chat with baristas like old friends, and the café radiates with a sense of local connection. People bring laptops, books, or dogs, and even when there’s a rush, the atmosphere remains spirited. What really sets Andante apart is their focus on pour over coffee. They carefully select beans from Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Brazil, taking the time to brew each cup with attention and precision.

At Andante, pour overs are the star of the show! They offer single-origin beans from Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Brazil, each with its own distinct flavor profile—from the bright and floral notes of the Ethiopian to the richer, chocolatey tones of the Guatemalan. As someone who enjoys pour over coffees, I ordered Guatemalan beans and it was perfectly brewed. My pour over stayed warm the entire 20-minute walk back to the 2025 AWP, which was a nice bonus! Prices for all drinks generally range from $5 to $7, which is typical for specialty coffee in LA, though their pour-over coffees are each $5. Lattes and other espresso-based drinks are available, served with simple but beautiful latte art. Their buttery croissant is also a must-try for anyone who walks in hungry! Warm and flaky on the outside, soft and rich on the inside (a perfect companion to any drink!)

If black coffee isn’t your favorite, Andante’s menu has plenty of other delicious options to explore. Their menu offers drinks under four sections: Espresso, Pour Over, Signature, and Tea Latte. Before we dive into their signature sips, let’s steep ourselves in their tea offerings! Andante Coffee serves premium green teas sourced from Fukuoka, Japan, including sencha, houjicha, and genmaicha. Now, onto their signature lineup: 8th & Grand, Cold Brew, Sweet Cold Brew, Andante, Barista Horchata, Spanish Latte, Espresso Tonic, and Honey Lavender. Their house drink, the “Andante,” is a sweet cold brew topped with sweet cream, cocoa powder, and pink salt.

Andante Coffee is open every day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., making it perfect for a morning caffeine fix or a chill afternoon hangout. If you have a furry friend with you, you’re in luck! They love animals so much they keep treats handy just for the pups. It’s not just dog-friendly; it’s more like dog-welcoming with open paws. Whether you’re grabbing a quick pour over or kicking back outside, your four-legged friend will feel right at home. So whether you’re in need of a carefully brewed cup, a flaky croissant, or a friendly spot to hang with your pup, Andante Coffee is ready to greet you.
