Café at the View sits right in front of Puerto Rico’s lush El Yunque National Rain Forest. You can sip your latte and actually watch clouds roll over the treetops. The café itself is small, cozy, and filled with the aroma of waffles and roasted beans. There’s indoor seating, but with a name like Café at the View, we felt morally obligated to sit outside, and the breeze agreed with our decision.

This café serves breakfast and lunch, with its popular items being waffles and coffee! The coffee drinks they offer include Latte, Americano, Cortado, Mocha, Chai Latte, Iced Latte, Frozen Coffee, and Iced Americano. For my dairy-free friends, Café at the View offers alternatives, including oat milk and almond milk.

Be aware, Café at the View can be a little bit pricey (the food, especially). This café’s food prices range from $5 to $19. The least expensive option is the cinnamon rolls, and the most expensive is the shrimp Alfredo. That being said, the food was amazing–as was the coffee. Our lattes came with beautiful latte art (one of which was decorated to look like a swan!) Depending on the type of coffee you ask for, the baristas will cover half of the rim with homemade whipped cream.

If you ever come to El Yunque National Rain Forest and are in need of a major caffeine boost from all your hiking, give Café with a View a try. They’re open Wednesday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Have a Happy Halloween and happy birthday, Mom!
